Late Night Breakfast

I just got back from a birth. I was out on a for 18 hrs. I am tired. I came home and wanted a beer, and some eggs. I would usually be embarrassed to take a picture of my cluttered desk but I really could care less right now. Ha

p.s. it is 7am

Videos and Hip Hop Adventures

Yesterday I made brownies with homemade whipped cream. The girls were super into it. I thought I would share this video.

Tomorrow night I am going to try the hip hop aerobics class at the Y. I am a little nervous but super excited. I am a little scared of being the uncoordinated white girl. I guess that the only way I will find out is if I actually just go and try it.

First Day of Fall

I am welcoming autumn with chili and corn bread for dinner.

Swim Day

Today was my first trip to the Y with both of the girls. We hopped on the trolley and walked over to the Y. I thought it might be exhausting to walk to the stop, fiddle with the stroller, get them up and in, ride with them (hoping they weren't crazy), get them off, fiddle with the stroller, then walk to the Y, but it was easy as pie. When we got to the Y they were so excited. They loved running through the locker room and getting their suits on. When we got in the pool the girls were so good. They had their little swimmie vests on and Madeline was able to swim on her own. I was also super delighted that it seemed pretty stress free. I had a great time hanging out with them and watching them play. They are really quite unbelievable.
It was great.
Thanks Marni for coming with me.

Good Days

We have been having a good week, the girls and I. Yesterday we got a membership to the YMCA and we renewed our membership to the zoo. I am looking forward to the Y over the winter. Free babysitting while I swim or just work out. Can't beat it. The zoo is also perfect this time of year. It is not crowded and the weather is just about perfect.

Madeline has been very into water colors lately. I have a little paint station always set up for her so she can dive right in whenever she feels like it.

This morning we had play group at Circle. It was such a fun time. So many kids and so many friends and too much coffee. It was great. If you have baby/toddler you should come. Friday mornings from 10:30-12.

Sense of Style

Jane is already gaining her sense of personal style. A metal strainer makes a great hat for reading. You can see through it!
(She is smiling in this picture, believe it or not.)

Busy

Life has been full lately. It has been more than fulfilling. I have another doula client due within the next week or so, I have been busy with my beautiful children, I got hired by Terrain as a freelance seamstress, and I have been commissioned by one of Jesse's coworkers to sew fancy curtains for her super fancy home. I also have been able to do something that I have not been able to do fir a long while. Sing. My friends Adam and Dave asked me to sing on their newest record (coming out early next year) and then to sign with them for a live show this Thursday at the M room. I love the recording and basement practices. It feels so good.

These are the banners that I was hired to sew. Times it by 2 then add 5 light covers. A sick amount of lime green.

I also had to include this picture of Madeline. Some of you know about her creepy mind reading abilities (if you don't I will tell you the stories over some beers) and I thought this picture captured her "reading ones mind." Ha!

Beautiful Birth, Beautiful Friend

Last night my friend had her beautiful little baby. It was truly amazing to be along side her through their labor. She is an amazing woman and I am proud to be her friend and her doula.
